The Biggest China Electronics Fair was
Satisfactorily Concluded with a new high scale. |

(April 17, 2008) The biggest electronics fair,
China Electronics Fair (CEF) known as barometer of
the electronics industry was closed grandly in
Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Centre, meanwhile
China International Digital Communication Exposition
(DigiCome) honored widely in the industry as
“Communication Olympics” also concluded
satisfactorily. The number of visitors hit a new
record of China Electronics Fair, a total of 68,421
visitors went to the three-day exhibition and a
total number of person-times reached 73,260, of
which overseas buyers were more than 5,000 for the
first time and a large number of them were from Hong
Kong, Macao, India, Japan, South Korea, Southeast
Asia, European and American countries and regions.
The fair area is up to 60,000 square meters, with a
total of 1,300 high-quality suppliers and 1,700
exhibition booths, as is undoubtedly the largest and
highest grand meeting in the electronics industry in
Shenzhen and even southern China in the first half
of this year.
Wang Shaoxiang, vice president of China's Electronic
Information Industry Corporation, Cai Shenping,
deputy chief of Special Equipment Bureau of the
Chinese People's Liberation Army General Armament
Department, Wang Bingke, former deputy director
general of Economic Operation Division of the
Ministry of Information Industry, Jin Hongrong,
former deputy chief of Special Equipment Bureau of
the Ministry of Information Industry, Yu Zhonghou,
deputy secretary general of Shenzhen Municipal
People's Government, Yin Yong, deputy director
general of Shenzhen Municipal Trade Industry Bureau,
He Haitao, deputy district head of Futian District
People's Government in Shenzhen City, and Zheng
Zhenyu, director of Korean Society for the Promotion
of Electronics Industry and other leaders attended
the opening ceremony. Wang Shaoxiang said in his
speech that the CEF as the most important grand
meeting of electronics industry in China has played
a positive role in promoting the development of
China's electronics industry, and has witnessed the
rapid development of electronic information industry
development in southern China after it enters into
Shenzhen for five years.
The Fair covered the entire electronic information
industry chain, including electronic components,
electronic materials and production equipment,
instrumentation, optoelectronics, IC, digital
terminals and electronic products, small household
appliances, IT, wired/wireless communication
systems, trunking communication, and mobile
terminals and so on. The Fair was held in April, the
golden procurement time, which joined together
Taitronics Fair (spring), Hong Kong Electronics Fair
(spring) and Guangzhou Trade Fair (spring) closely
and provided more convenient for one-stop shopping
of international visitors. The highlights of this
exhibition included the participation of many
well-known enterprises and the demonstration of the
latest products and technologies, coupled with some
forums of the current hot topics.
The biggest highlight: new products of famous
enterprises attracted powerful buyers
Large-scale electronic components manufacturer Xian
Chuanglian, famous components distributors YEL
Electronics, Shanghai Junyao Electronics and CTC
Group, as well as Smith & Associates，a leading
company in the independent distributor field of
global electronic components, CHITRON ELECTRONICS,
one of the domestic largest independent electronic
components distributors, P&S, one of most famous
electronic components distributors and mass market
service providers in China, American Trusted
Components, one well-known company providing
semiconductor electronic components inventory
management services and other well-known brands
attended China Electronics Fair. The well-known
exhibitors also included Fluke Corporation, Minimo
and Japan Kyoritsu Equipment leaders of electronic
test tools in the instrumentation industry, Japan
Machine and Shizong automation equipment ofChinese
mainland’s largest automatic terminal crimping
machine manufacturers in the production equipment
field, and Shenzhen hi-tech company large-scale
professional manufacturing and engineering service
provider of the domestic LED display system in the
optoelectronic display industry and so on. The
well-known enterprises during the Fair showed their
high-end and advanced technical products, and some
products appeared at home for the first: RQB-C8TV2x
new product introduced by YEL Electronics is a heavy
current, high efficiency and isolation 1/ 4 DC/DC
converter, which input voltage is 36V to 75V and
output current in a single board is up to 100A, plus
additional radiator to improve its thermal
performance; Fluke focused on showing FlukeTi25 and
FlukeTi10 thermal imagers， important tools for
troubleshooting and maintenance.
A large number of industry buyers were also
attracted to visit and purchase in China Electronics
Fair by its tremendous appeal formed in southern
China for many years. As enterprises need purchase a
large number of components and equipments, in the
light of the procurement of industry users, new
initiatives were launched in the Fair as follows:
the organizing committee provided exhibitors with
information matching in accordance with purchase
intention, and organized the related exhibitors to
hold procurement business conferences and developed
special procurement activities on the site to
realize face-to-face negotiations. The groups of
China Council for the Promotion of International
Trade Electric Power Industry Commission and China
Electricity Council visited the CEF. Meanwhile TCL,
Galanz, Foxconn, South Korea Nanotechnology Company
(Hong Kong), Delta Electronics and other buyers
completed bulk purchases through China Electronics
Fair.
The national mobile phone brands dominated China
International Digital Communication Exposition
Shenzhen has become a major production base of
global mobile phones; in order to fully demonstrate
the status and image of Shenzhen “Mobile phone
city”, the mobile phone enterprises with globally
competitiveness exhibition district in Shenzhen was
specially set up in the China International Digital
Communication Exposition. A large number of national
mobile phone brands were gathered in the fair,
indicating that the national brands are catching up
in the fierce mobile phone industry competition. The
first enterprise with a mobile phone license and
well-known brand in China's digital industry –
Newman carried its brand mobile phone to debut, as
marked the first step for the digital enterprises to
enter into the competitive mobile phone industry.
The M828 “Double Sided” mobile phone of Newman
appearing on the site broke through the record that
“Double Sided” mobile phone had been dominated by
foreign brands. Newman stated highly, that Newman
will “rushed” to the mobile phone industry in the
Olympics year and will make full use of the
high-quality platform of DigiCome fair to expand the
market share. The “Double Sided” mobile phone M828
launched in the Fair has an interface for mobile
phone dial-up and the other interface with a fashion
music player, and users can make telephone call
while listening to music without communication
conflict. Meanwhile the upstarts of the China mobile
phone industry brands - BANDSHINE COMMUNICATION,
Guohong Communications, Baojixin Electronic and
other national brand mobile phone manufacturers had
also joined the Fair. “Children’s mobile phone” and
“On-board phone” launched by Shenzhen BANDSHINE
COMMUNICATION have achieved the tremendous success
in the segment market relying on their unique
product positioning, and its products have entered
Southeast Asia, Middle East, Africa and other
international markets. Baojixin Electronic would
introduce Wi-Fi dual-mode phone. Kingcarrier,
Zhejiang Arpoo, and XPTEK and others also brought
their latest digital mobile terminals, video
telephony, portable multimedia devices and other
fashion consumer electronics products.
Meanwhile more mobile phone supporting enterprises
appeared in the Fair; the listed company Advanced
Technology specialized in production of mobile phone
casing/connector, Triple-pole Aetna engaging in
production of mobile phone antenna, Goldhome
industrial design company engaging in mobile phone
appearance design, as well as the large number of
enterprises taking Nuojier and SHENZHEN YIKLIK
ENERGY LIMITED as representatives and engaging in
production of mobile phone batteries would create
DigiCome to a perfect display platform for mobile
phone production chain with the national brand
mobile phone enterprises.
Combination of Fair and Forums led a new direction
of the industry
Some forums were launched simultaneously in the Fair
to discuss the new direction of the development of
the industry, covering almost all fields of the
electronics and communications industry. Wherein,
high-end forums of automobile electronics, FPD,
mobile phone, RFID, test and measurement and other
industries became the highlights in the Fair once
again.
“2008 Automobile Electronics and On-board Technology
Seminar” took “safety, comfort, entertainment,
intelligence and environmental protection” as the
core for exploring “Automotive sensor technology”,
“Solution to circuit protection in on-board
entertainment equipment”, “Vishay automotive
electronics applications” and other topics together.
The leaders of Infineon Technologies, Tyco
Electronics, Vishay and other well-known enterprises
made wonderful speeches against the above topics.
The rapid development of the present flat panel
market in the world has made the flat panel display
industry of China to gradually become one of the
focal points of electronic information upgrade
industries. Centering on the theme of “Development
Strategies from Consolidated and Integrated FPD
Industry”, the related leaders of the former
Ministry of Information Industry, and BOE, Shenchao
photoelectric and manufacturers of modules,
monitors, laptops, mobile phones and other portable
devices, TV set and others in southern China's
industrial chain discussed the road of FPD
manufacturing industry.
With the liberalization of mobile phone licenses,
the market environment is further opened up and
China mobile phone industry is facing new
opportunities and challenges. To sum up mobile phone
sales in 2007 and release the mobile phone industry
data and market data of the first quarter of 2008,
“First China Mobile Phone Industry Research Release”
and “2008 National Mobile Phone Production
Enterprise Production & Sales Semina”r appeared
newly during the Fair. China Mobile, Jinli
communications, ZTE Corporation, Cypress, DoPod, RIM
(Blackberry) and other famous enterprises and
participators pushed the assembly of the mobile
phone industry commonly.
“Ninth International Professional Electronic Testing
and Measurement Seminar and 2008 Quality
Certification and Testing Technology Forum” were
held on April 12, and comprehensive and easily
operational solutions were provided to the business
world coping with the challenges of various green
manufacturing directives in the seminar based on
regulations, standards, testing, technology, as well
as software and cases. Chen Wei as a special guest,
vice director of China Quality Certification Center
(CQC) in the special report of “Certification
Prospects” thoroughly and meticulously expounded the
current certification status in China and the
international and domestic situation, and prospected
the future certification and testing work in China.
China CEPREI Laboratory presented “EMC testing
requirements of electronic products”, “coping
directive of EUP Directive” and “reliability and
environmental test technology” and other hot topics
to the participants. Electronic product testing
centre and Commodity Inspection South meticulously
explained and analyzed the testing certification
processes and cases. The classic and practical
speech contents pushed the seminar to the climax.
The forefront and practical contents attracted more
than 150 senior supervisors and engineers from Japan
Hioki, Huawei, AOV, Shenzhen Qile Electronics,
Johnson Motor, Kangxun software technology, Foshan
Xincheng Electronics, Foxconn, Flextronics, ZTE,
Casio, Guangzhou Light Motor and many other
enterprises.
Meanwhile, “RFID Technology Advanced Training”,
“South Korea Electronics Fair Shenzhen Introduction
Meeting”, “Green Manufacture Testing Market
Promotion Seminar” and etc. also appeared during the
same period. A variety of summit forums jointly
pushed the Fair to a new level, achieving the first
exhibition in China electronics and communication
field in 2008.
China Electronics Fair coupled with Civil Aviation
and Baidu upgraded conference services
According to the scale and standard of the Fair, the
highlights of China Electronics Fair this year were
frequent, especially in the service innovation.
China Electronics Fair and Shenzhen Airlines
provided the exhibitors and spectators with unique
air tickets and hotel booking channels and even
provided green boarding services to VIPs of the
Fair. In addition, they also provided fair
information through the commercial network of
Shenzhen Airline across the country. Brand Fair
jointly with Civil Aviation further promotes the
high-quality service of China Fair.
Meanwhile “Baidu Business School • 2008 Spring
Executives Training Class” named as “Waiting for
customers, sitting on business opportunities” was
launched during the Fair. This was a value-added
service provided to the exhibitors and visitors by
CEF and Baidu using the opportunity of the grand
meeting in the industry, 71st China Electronics
Fair. Training class is designed to help the
e-business maximize the use of Internet tools for
the network marketing, so as to reach the aim.
